Physical Description:
Height: 5’ 6”
Body type: Anah is rather slim and slightly curvy. However, she keeps her shape hidden under looser clothing.
Eyes: Anah has large brown eyes framed by a scattering of lashes.
Hair: Anah has long brown hair that is cut to her waist. When she lets her hair loose it is almost perfectly straight. Most the time, she binds her hair tightly back, or braids is half back.
Distinguishing marks: Anah walks with a very faint limp. Normally it is not too noticeable, but when she is weary or sore it will become more pronounced. She also bears scars all along her right side, stretching from her leg up to the middle of her neck. The worst of the scarring is around her right hip and leg, but some can be seen on her neck, feet, and even on her right hand.
Clothing: Anah wears loose clothing usually, including proper skirts and bodices. She will often wear clothing with longer sleeves and higher necklines to conceal most of her scarring. She doesn’t bother with colors very much, though thanks to the efforts of her mother her few outfits are done in lovely shades of pale blue and off white.

Personality: Anah is very depressed. The loss of her brother has deeply affected her. However, she does try to hide this behind a mask of cheerfulness. She acts as if all is well when around others. It is her belief that the goddesses would not want her to spread her misery to others.

Anah does have a bit of a wicked streak, and on those days she is feeling better, she will occasionally play pranks on those around her. Such days are very rare, however.

She is also a good listener. She does not like talking about herself, for such topics almost always tend to veer towards the painful past. Rather, she prefers to listen to others. She hardly ever repeats what she hears, and many folk have started to come to her when they need to tell somebody about their problems, hopes, and dreams.

Family: Anah’s family consists of her Mother, Father, and Aunt Karis. Her grandparents on her mother’s side have passed away. Her Father and Aunt spent their early lives as orphans living in the street and no longer remember their parents.

Magical Talents: Anah is capable of seeing the use of magic as a sort of glimmer in her sight. Subtle magics, or even magical objects will seem to shine to her. This proves useful when such objects end up in her Aunt’s shop.

Weapons and Talents: While Anah does carry a small hidden knife as defense, she is unable to use it very well. It is something of a last defense.

Strengths and Weaknesses: Anah is a very good listener. One could say that her strength lies in gathering information.

As for weaknesses, Anah cannot walk very far before her leg starts to ache. She can also barely run at all.

History: Anah’s Father, Jacob, and Aunt Karis started out living in the streets of Hyrule Castle City. Chances were that they would have spent their whole lives as poor thieves if Anah's Aunt had not stumbled across an adventurer. As it was, she found herself spying on an adventurer who noticed her and invited her along. Feeling she had nothing to lose, she went along with him, ended up helping stop a rather nasty sort of wizard. On the way, she found some rare treasure, which she quickly used to leave behind the city and start a shop in Lon Lon Town.

Her brother joined her in helping with the shop, where he met Anah’s mother, Alexis, when she came in to buy a rare pen one day. She had been the daughter of a pair of farmers, though she had learned enough to leave that life and enter the life of a scribe. The two fell in love and married, and a year later Anah and her twin brother, Alex, were born.

For about ten years Anah and Alex lived in the town with their parents. The family shared a home with Aunt Karis, and often helped out in the shop below. The shop was the sort of place that would buy and sell any item as long as it was legal. The random assortment of wares that entered the place resulted in no end of entertainment for the twins. Many a time they would "help" out in the shop, leaving behind a wild mess that others would have to clean up. Anah and Alex were also troublemakers, the sort to go scampering off into the town and get into all kinds of mischievous trouble. They explored the towna dn surrounding areas, made friends and alliances with others their age, and mercilessly pulled pranks on anyone with whom they could get away with it. They also found great excitement in learning basic thief skills and testing them out with the help of their friends from the streets.

When the twins were ten years of age, their parents had a run in with an old gang member from Jacob’s street rat life whom they had been at odds with. They decided that the town just wasn’t safe enough as long as that man knew they were there, and moved the family out to the farm owned by Alexis’ parents in the countryside. For a few years they worked there, helping Alexis’ elderly parents. Eventually the twins’ grandfather passed on and their grandmother followed within a week. The family then took over the running of the farm.

While there, Anah and Alex continued their antics. This time though, rather than a town, they had a whole exciting countryside to explore. They would often be gone for hours, darting away the moment their mother let them free from their lessons. This continued for many years.

It was when both the twins were 17 that the accident happened. Alex had for several months been talking about plans to leave and go seek out a purpose in life. Anah was planning on joining him. The two were lounging about beneath a small cliff they had found long ago on a rather windy day. They were talking of places to go, throwing around names and ideas. It might have been the wind that started it, nobody was sure. What people did know was that somehow a large bolder came loose from its spot above the cliff, and in it’s fall it brought down much other debris as well. Alex was caught in the midst of it and killed in an instant. Anah was caught on the edge, and found herself trapped beneath boulders and debris. For almost a day she remained there until finally her family found her.

At first it was unknown whether she would live. She was broken both in her body and in spirit. The nearest healer was not a very skilled one, and Anah was so miserable over Alex that it seemed as if her very will to live was gone. Somehow though, she pulled through, only to learn that her leg was so badly injured she could hardly walk on it.

For the next year she recovered. A local priest helped her through her worst times by telling her about the goddesses. During this time she began to develop a deep faith for them. Surely if they had created Hyrule, they could put things back the way they were. She prayed for this often, though she knew it to be impossible. She also prayed to get better, and as her leg healed and she gained the ability to walk again, her faith increased.

Still, painful memories constantly haunted her. It did not help that there was very little work she could do at the farm. After almost a year of idleness, she finally left, heading back to Lon Lon Town. She started living above her Aunt’s shop and began to help out there.

As the year passed, Anah took over more and more tasks at the shop. Speculation had it that her Aunt was slowly preparing to hand the shop over to the girl. As for Anah, it often felt as if the shop and her faith were the only things that kept her from falling back into that terrible despair that had consumed her in the days after Alex died. More than anything, she misses her brother, and as time goes on that gaping hole he left in her has been getting worse. Often she feels as if she would do anything to bring him back.

Still, such things are impossible. And so it is that Anah works at the shop, listens to rumors, and spends the rest of her time praying; always hoping for life to just get a little better and for the past to finally put those dreadful events behind her.
