Physical Description: Riana is firm of body, which leads her to be more resilient to outside forces. Her hair is golden colored, as per her Hylian roots, with vibrant and expressive blue eyes and full red lips. Cheekbones are high, giving her a noble countenance, and her nose is almost button-like. Her neck is swan-like, gracefully ending in petite yet strong shoulders often covered by armor. Arms are femininely muscled, ending in long graceful fingers with well-taken care of, rounded nails.
Torso is long and curvy, with a full bust and wide hips that are defined by a toned stomach, all built from years of traveling in the outlying lands. Legs are firmly toned as well as long, built for speed and jumping ability.
Armor is of fine calibre, and made from a mysterious Ore found in the northlands. Cloth garments are usually black or deep red, occasionally venturing to dark blues and the occasional silver. Boots are leather bound with fur and wrapped with leather, oiled daily to withstand dry rotting.
Personality: Often seen as brash and rude, Riana is rather classy when someone deigns to get to know her. Once in her good graces, the Hylian speaks with a nobility hardly befitting her status as a simple traveler. To her friends, she is playful and fun-loving, albeit protective and somewhat arrogant. To her enemies, a force to be reckoned with, often bull-headed about 'giving what she's gotten'. Materialistic almost to a fault, Riana has no problems with partaking of whatever delights happen to wander her way, be they sexual or recreational. Race is lost on her, and as such all races are looked upon as equal in her eyes, and she tends to become a Goodwill Soldier when oppression is obvious.
Family: Unknown
Magical Talents: Empathy; the intellectual identification with or vicarious experiencing of the feelings, thoughts, or attitudes of another.
Weapons and Talents: 7' braided leather whip with dodongo bone handle
Strengths and Weaknesses: Riana, by rights, is a skilled warrior and athlete. Her abilities with the whip are legendary. She is able to inspire those who follow her, as well as succumb to the leadership of another should the need arise. However, issues with authority lead her to being a sort of 'maverick', perhaps due to a past incident that only herself and one or two others is aware of. Materialistic to a fault, Riana enjoys the finer things in life; men and woman, fine foods and finer wines, quality armor and weapons. The bond she and her falcon, Kormok, share is a mystery to all, and is seen as both a boon and a fault to her.
History:
~Records from her own personal journals~
Riana was born in a rather high-class home, where it was pushed upon her from birth to be the epitome of Hyrulean nobility. However, despite everything, the young girl found herself longing for the outside world, often sneaking out late at night to venture into the town. At six, she showed interest in an old whip used by the stable hands. As time went on, and in between etiquette lessons, history lessons, and singing lessons, Riana learned the way of the whip, and that of the saddle. At ten years of age, she was given her first true gift; a pendant bearing the Soaring Eagle of Hyrule, its eyes set in rubies and its body made of pure gold. The necklace remains on her neck to this day, carefully hidden beneath her clothing.
Years later, at sixteen, Riana was once again given something that would nearly force a decision upon her.. an opportunity to forge a path through the halls of her home and blaze a trail into lands unknown. Her father, ever forceful, demanded that she allow herself to be married off to another aristocrat's brash and egotistical first born. Refusing, and being punished for it, Riana made her decision. In the dead of night, by the light of nothing but a lantern, the teenager left her warm, comfortable home.
For four years, Riana made her way to the Northlands, coming upon different cultures that reinforced her decision. Upon meeting and living with a wandering group of Gorons, Riana commissioned a weapon from one of the older weaponsmiths. A dodongo-bone handled whip, seven feet long, made of braided dodongo-hide leather and emblazoned with the Goron's Ruby design. Bearing her new weapon, the 20-year old went further into the wilds, and wasn't seen for several more years...
Little is known beyond the fact that Riana knows more of the Hyrulean Royal Family than she should, and bears a striking resemblance to the reigning sovereign. The Whipmaster made her first appearance almost three years ago, randomly appearing in Kakariko Village after journeying from the Northlands. At first thought to be stoic and arrogant, the traveling woman often lent her hand to assisting the townspeople with any mundane tasks that needed done, even going so far as to repair someone's fence with her own hands.
As a reward for her help, the village gave her one of their best steeds; a Morgan by the name of Mist, named for the color of his hide and the fluidity of his gait. A few weeks after her initial arrival, Riana bid farewell to Kakariko's residents, and began her travels in Hyrule, reacquainting herself with her old homeland.
Yet another partner was gained in her travels; her falcon, Kormok. Rescued from a Gerudo outpost almost two months after she left Kakariko, the Falcon bears messages to and from Riana's friends, as well as acting as a scout during the chill Hyrulean nights. The falcon is reddish brown in color, and bears the Seal of the Royal Family upon his hood.
