Physical Description:
Age: 18
Height: 5”5
Build: Slender
Hair: Long, semi-dark brown and wavy. Usually worn down.
Eyes: Warm brown.
Clothes: Faded blue cotton dress, light tan pants. Disconnected matching sleeves. Dark brown belt. Dull dark red cloak, usually worn open. Brown boots.

Personality:
Practical; Lyla always tries to think and wish within reason. Honest and trusting- sometimes too much. She’s typically cheerful. Lyla’s always kept her childlike curiosity and desire for excitement, but whenever the situation looks dangerous she’ll back away. She dislikes violence, and learned her magic for self defense. She’s always had a sort of itch that prevented her from staying in one place for too long.

Family:
Father.
Mother is a nurse.

Magical Talents:
Manipulation of fire. Can make a preexisting fire do what she commands, or create her own. Good healer.

Weapons and Talents:
Lyla carries no weapons, and has little to no skills with them.

Strengths and Weaknesses:
Lyla specializes in magic, so she’s strong in both close range and long range magic, as well as healing. Unfortunately, she’s frail, and doesn’t fight unless absolutely necessary.

History:
Lyla’s life was always simple. She lived with her parents in a cozy village. Her mother taught her to heal from when she was 10 years old. But Lyla was a restless child. She’d often get into arguments with her parents, begging them to let her travel, or to travel somewhere with her. They, however, were perfectly content and had no desire to adventure. Lyla eventually got into the habit of running away every couple months or so - but never for longer than a few days or so. When she was 15, she decided she was old enough to break free; she wrote a simple goodbye letter and headed out.

However, she quickly learned the world wasn’t so peaceful and loving as her home life was, she soon learned she needed a way to defend herself. She experimented with the sword and bow, but soon realized her true talent was magic.
Lyla became a sort of wanderer. She could always find jobs wherever she ended up, but just when she thought she could settle down somewhere, she felt that same itch to move again, and would abruptly cut all her ties and hit the road.

Spells:
Fire surge (Ranged): A simple but powerful surge of fire is shot at the opponent.

Ok, with all the points given back to you from your Flaws, you've used 24 points. You need to spend points until you have either used up to 33 points, but you cannot go over 35 points. Everything else checks out fine.

Now you have used a total of 43 points, meaning you're over your allotted amount by about 8 points. But I think I see where you've done some of your math wrong. What you have written next to your archetype bonus stats in blue is what you're probably counting wrong. See, you null out the first two points when counting for your archetypes, and then you add on points that count.

For example, anyone with an archetype-bonus skill at 4 would have to spend a total of 7 points to raise it to 4; the first two points are free, raising it to 3 costs 3 points, and raising it to 4 costs 4 points, totaling to 7 points. Likewise, anyone with a non-archetype-bonus skill at 4 would have to spend 10 points to raise it to 4. Raising it to 1 is 1 point, raising it to 2 costs 2 points, raising it to 3 costs 3 points, and raising it to 4 costs 4 points, totaling to 10 points.

Please refer to this post for more information on how to spend points correctly.
