Perhaps having Sona not come with him wasn't such a bad thing after all. Business within the land of the Zoras wouldn't have been suited to her, anyway. Sure, skills of coercion that Ikanyu didn't have were needed to most likely get by here, of all places. But despite his horrifying appearance, he was still a Zora, and hospitality, help, and anything of that sort couldn't be denied to a fellow kinsman, despite his oceanic origins. Well...that was something he didn't know for sure, and given his reputation down at Zora Hall, there was no way of knowing whether or not the Zoras of the Domain would still accept him. He had come here numerous times in the past when he was still a part of the medical committee, but since his defection, he had to wonder if he was still welcome here.
He would get his answer as a troop of Zora guards stopped him. But wearing a porcelain mask with blue markings and silver hair and a large, black cloak over his body would cause any guards to stop him, being suspicious and all. Good thing he dumped out his poison supplies back at his shack before he came here. All he had now were medical supplies. They forced him onto land with a few motions of their spears and a statement that any universal guard would say. "Halt! Identify yourself!!"
"Do I gotta do this now? Ah, whatever." He removed his mask to reveal his ugly mug. His fangs, glowing feral eyes, dreadlocked head fin, and arm scales were as prominent as ever as the guards immediately recognized him. "Ikanyu Scaldera...what are you doing here?"
A smile appeared on Ikanyu's face as he put his mask back on. "It's funny to me. Doctors are made to save people from whatever medical condition they have. Yet in the long run, they are unable to save themselves."
"What are you-"
"Simply put, I developed a strange condition that is...startling, even to me. If there's one Zora doctor here that deals in supernatural diseases, it would be Doctor Zoltar. I'm here to see him."
"Rrr...very well. Welcome back to Zora's Domain, Doctor Scaldera."
All went according to plan. Of course, he hadn't even decided to get that poison emanating from his hand checked out. But the more he thought about it, the more he needed to know whether or not this would actually kill him. He needed to know more about it. So who better to ask than Doctor Falchius Zoltar? He would get his answers as to what the Prince was up to later.

As he walked through Zora's Domain, he couldn't help but feel more ostracized by his own people. To his associates, he was a doctor. To lesser known associates, he was an alchemist and a killer. To the rest of the Zora society, Ikanyu was a monster. A fanged, dreaded, glowing-eyed monster whose only purpose in society was to be the stuff of fairy tales and dreams. No Zora was ever meant to look like this. It was a true statement that no two Zoras look alike, however. Some don't have head fins. Some have what appears to be hair on their head. Some have fins jutting out of their arms, while others have frills. But scales on his arms, glowing yellow eyes, dreads, and fangs? It wasn't natural for all four to occur on a Zora at once, and many people have said that. But what happened to him happened, there was nothing he could do to change that.
But the poison emanting from his hands...that was another thing entirely. The thing was that most Zoras possessed racial magics, and most of it had to do with the use of manipulating bioelectricity through one's entire body. If Zoras became mages and knew how to manipulate both water AND bioelectricity, they could singlehandedly destroy any living creature on the planet. But it seems that Ikanyu was to be cursed once more with the "gift" of a racial magic...poison. But he didn't even know if it was a racial magic or not, so the only thing he could do was go see this doctor. He peered into both his gloves to see if the color emanating from his hands was still there. Jade Green. Apparently the poison he had injected into his wrists was still in effect. He had used what he dubbed "Numbing Poison," which didn't kill if breathed or injected, but it was meant to act like a tranquilizer and numb the senses, crippling the victim in a mental manner for awhile.
The dirty looks he was receiving as he walked silently through Zora's Domain would have been enough to make a self-conscious person want to run far away and hide themselves from view. Every set of Zora eyes was trained on his person. How could any of them forget about "The Monster" of Great Bay? Many had said he looked like a shark with that face of his, while others who had pushed him around before said he was either extremely ugly to look at, or too scary to look at. This was, of course, after his body had matured at the age of 12. He had no memories of the time before that.
He continued to walk on until he reached a specific door in the residential area. Without giving it a second thought, he banged on the door three times. He could hear someone shouting from the other side. "Who the hell is it?! Go away!"
"You wound me. I figure you would at least recognize my voice before driving me off like so many others."
There was a silence. The door then slowly opened to the sight of a Zora who looked to be past his prime. A look of shock and horror came over his face as he saw who it was knocking at his door. "Ikanyu? It can't be..."
Ikanyu smiled from underneath his mask at his old friend. "It's been a long time...Doctor Zoltar."

Before long, Ikanyu had the glove on his right hand taken off to be examined by Dr. Zoltar. While he sat in what looked to be a pediatrician's office within the man's home, he recounted how he even got into the house in the first place. Obviously Falchius wasn't too happy to see him, especially after the time when Ikanyu defected from the medical committee so long ago. Before he could drive Ikanyu away, the situation of the illness plaguing the masked Zora was explained to him. Knowing that he always liked studying rare cases, Falchius let him in to be part of this examination. Too easy.
Dr. Zoltar came in with gloves on his hands and began to examine this strange illness. "Ikanyu, how did you come by this? When did this start happening?"
Ikanyu felt the need to be direct with this one. "It happened about a month ago. I was doing business when the mist popped up from my hand, and it wouldn't go away. It's done nothing bad to me, but I fear for the safety of others coming to me for healing." He saw Dr. Zoltar try to get close to his hand and yanked it away. "I wouldn't breathe that stuff if I were you. It's toxic."
"And how do you know?"
"I accidentally killed a patient with this mist. Though I came up with a solution to make it non-lethal, it might asphyxiate your brain if you breathe it in, so keep your distance."
Now Dr. Zoltar was dumbfounded. He made it non-lethal, but still gave it the power to asphyxiate? "How did you do that?"
"My job deals with all sorts of chemicals, and while trying to deal with a cut I got on my person..." Ikanyu pointed out the scar on his wrist to show he wasn't lying. "...the chemical seeped into the wound and made it change color. First it was a jade green color, then it was an aquamarine color, and now it's teal. I had to inject myself with something that had a slight chance of killing someone just so I could get it examined."
"You can change the effect of this mist? I have to see this. Here, inject your wrist with this stuff." Dr. Zoltar handed him a syringe filled with an orange liquid. It felt hot to touch, and would probably burn him if placed on his skin.
Ikanyu wasn't about to be fooled into being killed by something he didn't know. "What the hell is this stuff? Are you trying to kill me, Falchius?"
"Just try this stuff, would you? It's a medicinal compound I created, but testing it on animals has proved fatal. Let me see if you can neutralize it." Would he do it? Or wouldn't he do it?

"Come on, Ikanyu! Inject yourself with this stuff, I want to see what it does!" Doctor Zoltar was being very forward, and slightly maniacal, about this chemical. What did it do? How would it affect Ikanyu? One way to figure this out was to test it on the skin. Pushing the top of the syringe down, he let a few drops hit his skin, wondering exactly what would happen. Would it hurt? Would it kill him? There was no way of knowing.
Automatically, a sharp burning sensation shot straight through Ikanyu's hand, causing him to cry out in pain. "ARGH, FUCK, THAT HURTS!!" No wonder the vial was hot! Doctor Zoltar had given him a chemical that would burn up his insides had he actually inserted the chemical into his wrist! "Rrrr....Falchius, you BASTARD!! What the fuck are you trying to pull, injecting me with that shit?!"
A wry and devious expression popped up on Dr. Zoltar's face. Had he really meant to betray Ikanyu like this? "You should have known better than to trust me, Ikanyu. You may remember that you defected from the medical committee, yes? Know that we were intent on kicking you out for your 'arcane practices' regardless of how you felt about it."
Feelings of betrayal and hatred welled up from behind Ikanyu's mask as he stared angrily back at his former friend, eyes aglow with pure hatred. Before Falchius could take the syringe away, he shot a scale in the doctor's direction, barely missing him, but inflicting a wound on his face. About to reel over in pain, Ikanyu caught him and put him in a death-inducing headlock. "Alright, this can go one of three ways. I can force this burning liquid into your neck and watch you get burned from the inside out. Or I can force you to breathe in enough of this gas coming out of my hand to asphyxiate your brain! Or I can use my scales to slice your fucking neck open, Falchius!! Pick your poison."
Falchius was a doctor, so he knew just as much as Ikanyu did about this subject. They can save the lives of others using the power of healing. However, they cannot save themselves using their own medicines, no matter how hard they tried. Multiple doctors fought and died long before them trying to salvage this dilemma, but none were able to solve it. That's why Ikanyu lives the way he does without remorse. He knows he can't save himself with the time comes, and so he lives life to the fullest.
As much as he wanted to kill Falchius for his act of betrayal, he decided to spare him. He let go of the man and gave him a look of feigned pity. "Ok, never mind, I'm not up to killing another doctor. But fuck up again, and I'm coming after you." To signify that he was dead serious, he punched the guy in the face and knocked him out. Gathering up all the rest of his stuff, he walked out of the doctor's apartment, cursing under his breath as he headed back to the main area of Zora's Domain.
