Sheikah (8/x)
Fated (3/x) - Chosen Fate
Physical Description:
Height: 5’ 3”
Eyes: Dark scarlet, nearly brown, though some mistake them for purple.
Hair: Fair and flaxen, with small curls and a multitude of waves. When cut short it tends to hover about her head unless slicked back for a more ‘tomboy’ sort of look. Currently it is cut short, curling out with a decidedly pixy look, with a long tail that hangs down her back and is mostly wrapped in a cord of one color of fabric or another.
Build: Her eyes are red, her ears are pointed, and her fair complexion is full of refined beauty, but all that can be changed with a dash of her quill across parchment and a bit of a good story. Androgyny is probably the only marked trait she really has, and even then, it is hard to take note of when she is dressed as one gender or another. She is fairly young looking in the face and lithe of body, but she’s got an air about her that disproves her appearance. Much like a kokiri’s eternal age locked in a youthful body, Paige gives an ethereal countenance with both her movement and gestures.
Clothing: Anything she can find to put on. For her last adventure, she wore largely boy’s clothing, with a large coat and high collar lined with fur of some sort. Baggy breeches and ankle high brown worn boots completed the ensemble below the waist and a relaxed cut shirt and unbuttoned vest suited her attire under the coat. Suspenders hold up the baggy pants until she can find a more feminine outfit to replace her worn clothing with.
Personality:
Paige, as we shall call her on this part of her journey, is the quiet sort of person. She blends in quite well in most any place. That’s her gift and her curse. She’s not remarkable in any one way. Her personality tends to sway with whatever character she’s portraying and whatever event she’s attending. Meek and mild might be the best way to rank her in the world… most of the time.
Family:
Unknown to anyone but Paige. At one point she was raised in the Sheikah village and it has since been suspected that she is a cousin of the Voltaire family, however with no definite surname, it is impossible to tell.
Magical Talents:
Paige has some magic, her book has far more; though only together can they be of any use. The unassuming volume she carries with her is the size of an average book (roughly 8.5 inches by 10 inches and 3 inches thick). When considering her task to record all the ancient and current events of importance it seems impossible that she would not have a library of some sort to carry around with her. However, when she needs a blank page there is always one to be found at the back of the book and when she needs to look up something centuries past, she has only to open it to find the right page.
It is not only current and past events that Paige records though. She has a knack for prophecising the future as well. This makes both her and the book desirable to anyone with aims on the future. It also makes it impossible for her to live the life of a normal person tied down to any one place. She is always on guard as the protector of the Histories.
Paige can also change her own appearance, or rather, other’s perceptions of her, by writing in her book. She can create characters that she then becomes, bringing them to life outside of the sheets of white paper. This has aided her in being largely undetected for however many years she’s been alive.
Weapons and Talents:
Paige does not often carry weapons other than a sling for killing her dinner with. She has training in several arms, though some are long since out-dated. Being a Sheikah and presumably raised among them at some point, she has received top training in stealth and hand to hand combat. Her talents mostly lie in word-smithing both on paper and in person. Other talents include singing and riding. She’s very good at riding horses, years of practice and tons of hours in the saddle.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Paige doesn’t like fire. She’s afraid her book will catch flame as much as herself. She prefers darkness to the overly bright light fom a bonfire. Any work she does by candle light is more often than not with several mugs of water around her. It’s all very well as she’s got sheikahn eyes that allow her to seem more clearly at night than most races. She also doesn’t have an affinity for water. She does know how to swim and can do so to save her own life, but she’d much rather cross over with the use of a bridge.
History:
As the keeper of Hyrule’s history, Paige has quite a bit of history herself. She tends to find herself in the thick of things, though often times as only an observer. Like a sixth sense, she finds history as it makes itself, the folds of time smooth themselves out before her, taking her with them. She can see all with a clairvoyance that is uncanny and yet, despite her tie with all things fateful, she features very little in the history that she records. Her footprint as she marches through life is small, but then again, very few people actually leave a mark worth writing about. Paige attempts to capture the small lives as well as those of importance. She feels that everyone deserves to know they made an impact, like a ripple in a pond.
