Physical Description:
Jack is a relatively lean and well toned individual. He stands just under six feet tall, and weighs approximately one hundred and forty pounds. His raven black hair, when down, reaches about to the middle of his back. Most often though, he keeps it in a ponytail. Aside from a few tattoos on his hands, his only distinguishing mark is a scar that runs from his forehead down the right side of his face and cheek. His usual gear is comprised of loose fitting grey or brown clothing, soft leather boots, and a broad brimmed hat. He does not seem particularly well armed, carrying only a khopesh and wearing a strange gauntlet. The gauntlet itself has an especially wide forearm, with a hole above the back of the hand.
Personality:
Jack is a quite focused and confidant individual. He keeps a good sense of humor about him, and is quick to smile. Despite this, he keeps his own feelings fairly well under guard and rarely allows others in on his deepest thoughts. He does have a rather serious side when necessary, but more often than not a mischievous twinkle can be seen in his eyes.
Family:
Johnathan Archer is aware only of the existence of his father, Adolphus Archer.
Magical Talents:
Jack has learned through his studies of the magical arts to do a number of things. The first is to disguise himself as another person who he has recently seen, or knows particularly well. He has also learned to harness energy from the plane of shadow, channeling it into a number of forms. While his most common use for this is to form a silent violent lightning bolt, he can also utilize this access to summon a short range but spectacularly powerful blast of energy.
Weapons and Talents:
Archer carries a khopesh with him, but he is much more talented with spells.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Archer is a fine spell caster and a conniving opponent, he is not the strongest when dealing with immediate physical threats.
History:
Johnathan Archer was born within a series of catacombs beneath Kakariko Village. His stay there was short lived however, as he was quickly whisked out into the world by his father. Still tasked with the keeping of Hyrule's history and the cultures of the people therein, Adolphus had to carry his son with him as he completed his work. Slowly, he found the boy to have immense magical talents and instructed him with what he knew of the art. Jack took quickest to the ability to change his appearance, as without his red eyes he was much better able to fit in with the children of the areas they visited. Eventually though, he grew out of what his father could instruct him with and had to acquire other methods of learning. Without any permanent home or place to stay, it was impossible to obtain a tutor to that end. Subsequently, Jack began visiting the libraries of every city they went to in order to unearth any knowledge he could and expand himself.
This process went on rather smoothly until Jack hit age sixteen. One morning he awoke in the hotel room he had shared with his father, alone. A thick journal, a pair of glasses, and a note had been left for him. His father was gone, and the pair were to meet again in seven years in Kakariko to discuss what the boy had learned during his time alone. The journal was to make a record of the people and places that he visited, their changes through time, and the relationships between it all. It was Adolphus's hope that Johnathan too would one day be able to contribute to the vast amount of knowledge held within the Shadow Temple. The glasses were a family heirloom, and while their purpose was not explained the boy was instructed to "Wear them when you need to see the truth." Confused, but ready for the challenge ahead of him, the young sheikah set out towards Clock Town.
The next three and a half years were spent within the walls of the trade city, studying under whatever mage would teaching him, working whatever odd jobs he could, and keeping records of everything as best he could. Eventually he began to branch out on his own and make his own magical discoveries, beginning to write in his own grimoire. He left Clock Town somewhat reluctantly, but felt that he had done as much chronicling as he could. Slowly, he made his way to Dragon Roost and Lon Lon, eventually ended up in Hyrule Castle Town. While his studies continued there, he was eventually recruited by a shadowy organization, the Order of the Skulls. Their purpose was was not dissimilar to his own, and their recruitment incentives were rather attractive to the poor scholar. With their funding, he was much better able to access the repositories of knowledge he had been searching for.
The primary directive of the organization had been to observe Hyrule, record the events that happened throughout, and act accordingly. While Jack took their ideas to be for the most part benevolent, he was aware that the organization was a fail safe should Hyrule's government begin to falter. Members had been placed throughout the nation's government since the fall of Gannon to ensure the prosperity of the nation. A small faction had started to take root in Termina when things went sour for the group. Hyrule's royal guard caught onto the group, and took their motives to be for the ill of the nation. Slowly, they gained information on the organization and in one night arrested or killed nearly two thirds of the organization. Jack managed to evade capture, but watched as the people that had become his friends were either imprisoned or hung. With the meeting with his father looming, he swore he would have his vengeance and set out towards Clock Town.
