Physical Description: Like most Goron, he is large in size and weight. Standing at six feet even, his form is offputting, as his body is quite muscular. His eyes are mostly hidden beneath a cap that he wears constantly. His face is somewhat unrecognizable due to the large, coal-black beard that extends all the way across his square jawline. It is often said his appearance consists of a hat, beard, and a grin. He likes to separate himself from other Goron by wearing an open vest, which can fool some people at a distance to suspect that he is a large man, rather than Goron.
Personality: Cruel and calculating, he seeks to accomplish his goals with exacting fortitude. He typically has a very civil disposition, which he uses to attract others to him. Dawndus is proud and very self-conscious, and he adopts a refined method of speech and carries himself upright. While he has a pleasant demeanor, it is often tossed aside when he becomes angry. His rage will revert him to his simpliest instincts and truest nature.
Family: Born into a typical family in Labrynna, he has two younger brothers and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. The elder of two brothers has two children of his own, giving Dawndus a nephew and a niece.
Magical Talents: None whatsoever. The Goron has quite an aversion to magic and the like.
Weapons and Talents: Prefers to his his bare fists and large body to fight directly with opponents. He's a talented thinker, but his wisdom is less of a scholarly nature, and more of a practical one. A difficult opponent to engage in battles of wit and skill.
Strengths and Weaknesses: Strength and speed as granted to him by his Goron parentage, as well as a patient and comtemplative mind. Similarly cursed with that parentage, he can't manage any mobility in water. He's also prone to fits of anger when he is damaged. He also has little to no experience with magic, and his daredevil attitude towards his goals often leads to injury.
History: Dawdus Knoonmi D'night was born in Labrynna to a large tribe of Goron living in Rolling Ridge. The eldest of three brothers, he was something of a daredevil in his youth. He was always trying to impress the people around him with stunts and feats of strength. Being strong in a Goron community wasn't very easy, as age was primary in determining one's maximum potential. Seeking new avenues of fame and influence, he tried his hand at a number of different things. Dancing, Trading, Construction, even Demolition. He was fairly good at all of it. But being fairly good was a terrible thing in his mind. There was no point in it unless you could be the best at it. All or nothing, was his standard mindset. So when the Goron first came across gambling, he was completely taken in.
By this time, he was grown to his full measure. Gambling had become the sole drive in his life. The thrill of taking everything from an opponent satisfied him like his work never could. The more he played, the more he wanted. The shell game was simple, but he felt that it could be greater. He sought out every den of theives and rouges that he could in search of more opponents. Card games were his favorite. They were most engaging, and he could really put the squeeze on opponents. After a time, he had built up a reputation for ruthless play. This shrunk the number of venues, which was a large concern of his. It wasn't long before he was being driven away. Worse yet, he became the target of people who sought to steal his hefty purse of winnings. His notorious streak forced him to leave the nation for Holodrum.
Being taken away from his home was hard enough, but being taken from his passion was mortifying. The anger and helplessnes he felt drove him on a path of destruction. He decided early on that he would find a way to return home, and put an end to those who would keep him from his desires. His search took him to North Horon, where he discovered a curious form of combat. It played to his strengths, and when he heard about prize fighting, he fell in love all over again. In Subrosia, he learned every mechant trick and scheme he could find. Rumors said that the man who taught him was an infamous scoundrel, and former crime lord. The rest of his time in Holodrum was something of a blur, but after a decade, he returned to Labrynna, with the goal of conquering it's underworld. His new love was conquest, as it had the highest stakes and the best challenge. It wasn't long before he had accquired a large fortune in his homeland. Determined to continue his rise to power and satiate his lust for influence, he set his gaze to Hyrule. To do what had not been accomplished in a century.
(I'm curious, does my Hyrulean nationality contradict my history? Should I be terminian in that regard?)
