[[I imagine these are your special arrows.]]
Alaric heard the secret panel open, Kaylin coming through, seemingly unaware anyone would be in the room. After she apologised, the Mayor shook his head, though he was still somewhat annoyed with her.
"It's fine, come sit down. You'll be safe from Logain's ear thrashing." Kaylin would give a questioning look. "Yes, I overheard your conversation with him. Coincidence you should arrive now, I was going to payback his rudeness." Alaric didn't go into too much detail regarding what he had planned, just that he had to wait for Logain to be asleep before he could begin manipulating his dreams. When Kaylin brought out the arrow, the Sheikah turned to Kvothe, unsuspecting the bond of information they shared.
"Can't say I know anything about it. Though I feel some magical force emanate from it." He responded, even though the question was aimed towards the undying King. A strange radiance glowed from the arrow; it was fair from pleasant, the magic almost smelled dry and dusty like the desert. Thoughts on Logain put to one side, he was momentarily intrigued by any response Kvothe could produce.

Alaric had pointed Zefie off in the right direction, though he wasn't sure whether or not she'd just end up running into some other room. He didn't mind too much, so long as she wasn't a nuisance. He turned a corner, stopped dead when he heard the voice of Logain and Kaylin. The Sheikah cursed silently, did he not just say he wanted her out of sight from him? He did not come to her rescue, but instead remained hidden, listening. Volleys of indirect insults were being hurled from one combatant to another, each landing their mark; though it seemed the Prince had the upper-hand. He bid her goodnight and left to his room, while heavy footsteps marched off towards one of the exits of the mansion. Turning the corner, he witnessed the battle site, though it was devoid of anything. Kaylin held her own, no doubt to her hardy experiences, but she would've been wounded. Alaric narrowed his eyes - Logain would surely feel his wrath this night.
The Mayor returned to his study, only to see Kvothe. It was unexpected, but it would not cause hindrance to his initial plan.
"Good evening, Kvothe." Alaric stepped into the study, shutting to the door behind him. Wards prevented anyone from outside being able to listen in, no matter how much effort they put into it. It was one of many enchantments his father had cast around the place during the mansions construction. He wandered over, taking note of the book the bony king held. "That was a favourite of mine when I was a child. I'd often imagine I adventured to far off places. Strange how circumstances play out." He meandered over to his drinks cabinet, filling a tumbler with golden liquid. "I'll be casting a spell shortly... One designed to cause nightmares... Living nightmares. Logain has issued a grave insult; I only wish to pay in kind." He said, taking a quick sip of the drink. The tonic burned his throat, but provided much needed clarity. He didn't mind telling Kvothe his plans, he trusted the Stalfos. "What do you think of the regent?" Asked Alaric, curiously.

The Mayor went silent for a moment as the Kokiri appeared from nowhere. The small fairy that accompanied their race chimed, guiding the young girl. Alaric resisted the urge to incinerate the glowing orb to fairy ashes - but Zefie's strange connection with Richard, and his connection to Kaylin meant the Sheikah was bound to hold his magic in chains for her sake. Besides, one move and Kaylin was sure to interject in some way. And it would be very difficult to explain the death of Zefie's fairy.
"Can I help you two?" He said, smiling. Silently, the Sheikah forced a dark shadow over Kaylin's face, making it much harder to see. He also stood between her and to Kokiri and her fairy, just for security. "Do you require me to show you to your room?" He asked.

"Well... You have not been seen, and I do not believe Kvothe would reveal your identity to either Richard or the Prince." He said, somewhat relieved. The last thing he wanted to happen was to look like he had been deceiving both people, even if they had inklings. The pair entered the kitchens, to which Alaric was bombarded with greets, 'Good Eve, My Lord', they chanted. Alaric smiled, and nodded his head, accepting their greetings.
"Dear all, you have performed excellently tonight. My guests were most pleased with your efforts, and the efforts of the dinning staff. I will see to it you all receive extra pay in this months salary for your hard work." The staff, roughly eight in all, clapped to eachother, seemingly pleased with the gift. They then continued on with their roles, washing dishes and cleaning away any utensils that had used through the process. Alaric turned to Kaylin, happy that the noise would muffle their conversation.
"Ikanyu will be fighting, though I sense something ails him. He left the dinner somewhat unexpectedly. As for I, no I will not be competing. It would be improper of my position. I believe Richard will be fighting, aswell as Kvothe as you mentioned. But... I do not know if the tournament will go ahead... But I cannot explain right now. Please, for sakes of giving yourself a headache, try to remain out of sight until both Richard and Logain are out of the mansion and of Clock Town." Alaric looked around, seeing if anyone would be of use for the moment. Not taking his eyes of the staff, as if tracking them, he said, "Perhaps one of the staff will provide you with shelter for a while. Or would you prefer to stay in the cellar?"

Alaric didn't flicker any annoyance at Logain's jibe. Instead he retorted in his typical manner,
"That sounds lovely, my grandfather would enjoy the idea of a free Sheikah entering the temple after guarding its secrets for many an age." He picked his his goblet and took a few sips of the acidic wine before placing it down upon the table. People were beginning to disperse, and rightly so, the tournament would require their full attention and alertness. Alaric figured the only one immune would be Kvothe, who didn't require sleep, sustenance... In fact, he pretty much needed nothing besides to feed the undying appetite to kill, maim and slaughter; to ever increase the ranks of the dead. It wasn't his fault, it was the nature of the Stalfos.
Richard excused himself, to which Alaric nodded. He even smiled at the Kokiri's ill-timed manners. At least she seemed to enjoy the food, which was better than nothing. Children were usually difficult to please.
"It was an honour, Richard. Should you and Zefie require anything, please ask any of my servants, or myself if I am around." He watched him leave before turning to those who remained. "Feel free to return to your rooms whenever you wish. If you excuse me, I just need to thank the kitchen staff for their efforts tonight. I offer the same invitations to you also, as I did to Richard, should you require anything, please ask." With that, Alaric stood and bowed before his guests and then left the room.
Alaric followed one of the servants with a cart full of dirty dishes. Making sure no-one was around, Alaric reached out and touched the maids arm. She instantly froze.
"What are you doing, Kaylin? Do you want to expose yourself to the Prince and Richard?" He said, calmly. He wasn't angry but he failed to understand the girls logic. He ushered he gently towards the kitchens, for the halls would soon be occupied with prying ears and eyes.
