Star opened her mouth to say something, but she didn't know what to say and quickly shut it. She bit her lip and played with her necklace. She had no idea what to do or say. Once again the two voices in her head were putting their two cents. The more negative side of her was saying she knew this was going to happen, but she was idiot for doing it. She had to find a way to bail out of this and just go back to selling her charms ad if this happened a second time she may as well go to the haunted forest and die there alone. While her more positive side was telling her to talk to Syu about her past and do the polite thing and answer Syu's question. Her positive side was also telling her she couldn't keep running away from people. Star just wanted to up and die right here she knew both sides had a point. She gave in to her positive side seeing no other option, but to talk to Syu.
She said, "I guess I can tell you a little bit. I live alone and I have to sell my charms to keep paying for a roof over my head."

"Mhmm.." Syulia nodded absentmindedly at Star's vague and very unsatisfying response as she looked through the menu. As if she couldn't already tell that this girl probably didn't live with anyone, or that even if she did, they definitely couldn't have been very close. She could have responded with a snide remark, but Syulia decided to keep to herself. This girl seemed very untrusting. Syulia wasn't sure she'd take sarcasm very well.

"That I think is very obvious... It's not your situation that I want to know, but rather how you got there and why." She paused for a moment. "Of course, your not obligated to tell me anything. I'm just always curious." She smiled slightly tapping her chin. "After all, this is just a meal between two strangers. After this, we'll part our ways and I promise I'll leave you alone if you so wish."

The bartender came back soon there after and asked for what they would like to order.

"Soup." Syulia said waving at the menu. "Chicken curry soup, sounds wonderful."

Star sighed she wasn't sure what to say or do at this point. She both wanted to spill her life story to Syu, but at the same time she just wants to stand up and leave. She played with her charms and asked herself what would her mother want her to do. She didn't have many fond memories with her mother due to her always begin at the clinics. She searched her brain fo one thing she remembered fondly about what her mother said to her once. Suddenly like a lightning bolt it hit her one thing her mother always told her life is meaningless if you spend all your life alone. She gave into her positive side and decided to share her story with Syu. She said, "Where should I start? My mother was an amazing nurse for all the races of Hyrule. She spent most of her time at the clinic helping the injured. She was amazing as a nurse and a person. She would always spend whatever free time she had with me and my older sister even when she was exhausted. I can't remember exactly when my mother died, but it was when I was little I think maybe seven or nine years old. My sister is a lot older than me, so she goes on adventures a lot. I lived in an orphanage for a year after mom died until my sister came home." She frowned as she continued, "She didn't stay around long though her thirst for adventure was too strong. She'd leave me with a few months of rent and then go on another quest or adventure." She sighed in relief it felt good to talk to someone about this even if it was a stranger.

A dead mother and a sister that left her every few weeks for months. This girl probably had abandonment issues. No wonder why it seemed like she couldn't trust anyone. What Syulia couldn't wrap her mind around was what the point was of her sister's travels, not to mention why Star couldn't just come along. That would fix everything, the whole leaving a young girl behind to fend for herself for no reason, plus sister to sister quality hang out time or whatever you would call it. Even more, how did her sister manage to leave the girl enough rent for a few months. And if so, why was she still selling charms to survive.

Syulia was entirely okay with not having a sister though. She couldn't imagine she'd get along well with a mini-version of herself. It'd just be a huge tiring game of power struggles that she knew she'd win all the time, but would have to keep playing anyway.

"Why doesn't your sister take you along? Wouldn't that make things easier for everyone?" She mused, glancing up at Star. "Wouldn't even have to pay rent."

Star paused for a moment the idea of going with her sister on her adventures had never crossed her mind, so she wasn't sure how to respond. Her more negative side was telling her it was because she would just slow her sister down on her adventures. She played with her charms while she tried to think of how to answer Syu. Syu had a very solid point about the fact that if she went with her sister she wouldn't have to worry about rent. She had no idea why the thought hadn't crossed her mind. Did it not occur to her sister that she could go with her. Maybe she was just trying to keep her safe or maybe she just hated her. She honestly thought either was possible. She knew that at least that her sister had a reason for not inviting her on the adventures she takes.
Star said, "I'd probably just slow her down. If my sister hasn't even asked me about coming with her I guess she just doesn't want me around."

"Well have you tried asking her? Don't be so assuming, maybe she just thought that you didn't want to come." She shrugged, staring at the salt and pepper shakers on the table. They were half full, which meant this table had a lot of traffic today. Or whoever sat here just liked to put a lot of salt and pepper on their food. The bartender came over with a tray holding their drinks and set the water in front of Syulia.

"Thank you." She smiled, looking up at the bartender with a nod.

"You're food will be up shortly." She said before she hustled off to tend to others.

"Anyway, do you even know where your sister goes?" She took a sip of her water. "For all you know she might just be going to another city or town and working a job there. What if-"

Syulia cut short there. What she was going to say was, "What if she didn't want to see you in the first place and that's why she disappears all the time?", but she figured Star had enough issues of her own, there was no reason to bring up any more stupid musings into her life.

"What if her adventures were a life to cover up so that you didn't have to worry about her working hard for your rent money?"

Star sighed she had never asked her sister the thought never crossed her mind. Her sister always came home with stories about old temples or ruins where she finds a lot of treasure supposedly. She was never certain about how true these stories were, but she was taught to believe what she is told by people older than her. Once again her mind was split on what to say. Her negative half was telling her that her sister just didn't want to see her at all from her memories the two of them were never close. The only memories she had with her sister when she was little was being taught archery by her. Her postive half was telling her Syu's answer was the truth, but she had no way of knowing that.
Star said, "I've never tried asking her because my sister and I were never close. She never asked me what I do while she is gone. She jus assumes I just make my charms and sell them. I've been the Haunted Forest multiple times to gather supplies to make my charms."

This child assumed too much. Assumed what her sister was doing. Assumed what her sister thought of her. Assumed what her sister assumed of her. She was definitely not a social person and probably avoided interacting with people as much as she could. Syulia was sure this conversation was probably making Star very uncomfortable, but Syulia felt like it was for the girl's own good that she finally talked to someone.

"Ask next time." She tilted her head slightly, resting it on her hand. "If you assume everything, you'll never find out anything at all."

She took another sip at her water.

"If you've been to the Haunted Forest and came back just fine, I'm sure you can adventure without a problem." Syulia paused for a second, staring at her water. It didn't seem like Star's sister was going to take her anywhere, and Syulia felt that if the girl just live here for the rest of her life selling charms, that would quite the unfulfilling life to live. "How about this, I'll take your somewhere so you can bring some sort of proof back to your sister to show that you can adventure with her and not slow her down. We could go to Clock Town or something. It'll be fun! You'll see new people, new things. Gotta sate that curiosity somehow, right?"

She stopped for a second, realizing she was getting carried away and cleared her throat.

"That is, of course, only if you would like to."

Star blinked why was Syu so interested in helping her? The idea of having something to show her sister she can handle herself was interesting, but at the same time she was scared of doing so if only because her fear of abandonment. Maybe her sister would let her come with her but then just up and leave in the middle of night as a way to get rid of her for good. She sighed she had too many emotions flying around in her head. There of course was her fear of getting abandoned, worry that she'd just slow her sister down, happiness about getting to know her sister finally, and sadness for being alone for so long. She rubbed her forehead this was way too much to handle with her mental state. She began hyperventilating and tried to force her anxiety down enough to answer Syu.

She said with her anxiety clearly heard in her voice, "Cl...clock town? What is that area? I've nevertheless heard of it."

    [[sorry been kinda busy lately]]

The bartender came over with their food and set down a steaming bowl of soup in front of Syulia. She had a mouthful and found it tasting quite wonderful despite almost burning herself from the steam of the soup. Fresh chicken, very good homemade curry. If anyone asked, Syulia would definitely come back to this place again.

She frowned at Star's comment. "Did you even learn your geography? Do you know what oceans are?" She looked up at Star in disbelief. What an irresponsible sister. At least teach your other sister that there's a huge world out there and what to find. "Clock Town a place far away, it's very different from this village. In a good way I'd like to think. Of course, I wouldn't want to spoil too much of it for you since you'll be visiting right?" She winked mischievously.

"Oh, and by the way," She mentioned after a pause, almost like an afterthought, "Don't get too attached. I can't promise we'll see each other ever again after our little adventure."

Star took a deep breath and managed to calm herself down. She was slightly offended that Syu didn't think she knew her geography. She knew very well what oceans were. She sighed she couldn't let her emotions get the better of her due to her abandonment she knew very well her emotions were unstable, but there wasn't anything as far as she knew that could fix that. She did want to go visit this Clock Town, but she was still nervous about going. She knew it was silly of her to be nervous considering she's been the Haunted Forest and back many times. She didn't remember her sister talking about it and she often just went to the forest and back without any stops to sightsee.

She said, "I know my geography Syu. I'm not stupid I just haven't heard of Clock Town before. Hyrule is a big place there is no way I'd know about every town that's a part of it. As for not seeing each other again I know that perfectly well. I'm used to it as you might have guessed. I'll go with you to Clock Town as long as I'm not a bother to you."

"Hm." She frowned. "Well good to know."

This child was as prickly as she was reserved. Syulia wondered if her sister was the same way, or if this girl became like this just because of all the crap that she went through as a child. To be honest though, Syulia was more interested in this girl's sister and what exactly she did. Star? Star was a mildly boring character. She didn't have much to say about herself. Didn't seem to have much to say about life in general. It didn't seem like she was very particularly interested in anything either. Syulia wondered if this girl even had hobbies or not.

But her sister? Who knew what this person knew. There was a chance that she could have seen someone like Syulia's mother, a fellow traveler. And what could be a better way to meet this sister other than to befriend her sister? Even if they weren't very close, Syulia was sure there was at least some sort of blood relation. If she could gain the trust of this girl, she was sure she'd at least get a chance to meet the sister.

"Well. Seeing as I'm taking you to Clock Town, there's no time to lose. We'll be on our way tomorrow morn. I hope you're an early riser because we'll be setting out before sunrise."

[[I guess that concludes this thread, unless you have anything else to say, I guess we could either go directly to Clock Town or take a detour and have a little adventure somewhere between, up to you, just PM me the thread link when you put it up.]]
