Like many of the amazingly talented artists on this website, I do my own art! Unlike the rest of them, however, I do not draw, which is unfortunate. But in place of visual art, I compose my own (highly unprofessional) music! I've been doing this for a few years now, and while I am nowhere close in skill to the music composition you'd hear in games or popular songs, I still enjoy making music for fun, which to me is all that counts. I post my work to Facebook and Twitter often, which maybe some of you have seen, but now it's here for the rest of you to see as it updates...hopefully.

You can find the link to my Soundcloud here.

I've made a couple new things recently, so here's some of my favorites.

    Technical Heart

    Zenith Ascendant

    Adrenaline Craze

    Solar Odyssey

Let me know what you guys think, and I'll post more as I keep working on them. Cheers!

Made a new track. I call it A Bitter Pill.

Life as of late has left me feeling kind of bitter, and that was the inspiration for this track. Screw that, it's left me very bitter. I find it really easy for emotion to take control in any sort of creation, and it definitely holds true for this. Musical creations are unique in that they can embody a feeling, a location, a situation, or anything similar, which is what I enjoy about the craft. Anyone can make anything, but it's what you put into it going in that lets other people get the sensation you're providing coming out. Does that make sense?

Enjoy! Or don't. Up to you.

Would you look at that, I made something new! I call it Rebellution.

I had no idea how to create the middle and end of this track for a long time, so I looked back at what made some of my more popular songs (determined by the most plays) successful. Looking at that, this is what I came up with. As for the name...hell if I know, it was just the first thing that popped into my head. Maybe it fits? Maybe not? Dunno.

And that's all I got. Hope you like it!

This is not just a double post. It's another new song! I call it Endless Blue.

If it's not officially summer yet, it definitely feels like it where I live. Warm breeze, blue skies, heat pouring down from above...it's awesome. The feeling of the beach and being there was something I wanted to emulate for awhile, and I think this definitely worked out. If anyone listening happens to be listening to this at the beach, let me know whether the song fits the atmosphere.

    Enjoy!

Hi guys! So this post is not about a piece of music I made, but rather for a game I had a hand in creating. The game is called Boolateral Damage.

My team, Bento Force, made this game in six months between January and June of 2015 as our senior thesis project for our bachelor's degrees in Game Design. Boolateral Damage is a physics-based puzzle simulator featuring a ghost and a messy room. The objective of the game is to possess objects around the messy room and position them in the path of an NPC (non-playable-character) in the room. When you click the scare button on the screen, the ghost will scare the NPC, and he will run off to the stairway at the edge of the room. Any objects in his path will go flying around the room and score points for the player as they impact the walls, the ceiling, or other objects. You clear the level once you hit a certain score. However, your ghost character is also very nervous, and making loud noises with any object will scare him. If you scare him three times, it's game over. If he's nervous, you can pet him to calm him down and get him back to his calm state.

I worked on the sound design (more on the side of implementing sounds than creating them) and some of the 3D models for the game. If you guys end up playing the game, please let me know what you think. Hope you enjoy!

Hey, something more my usual speed this time! I call this one Boreal Dream.

Man...this one went through a lot of changes. This whole piece took me 40 hours across several weeks. I started experimenting around trying to find a structure, and once I had that, I needed to find pieces that would best fit the feeling I was going for, but that was more trouble than it was worth. Every time I create compositions in B♭, I always get a feeling of being cold or seeing snow, and on a minor note, I also think of dreams or dream-like environments in this key. Thankfully, the new Garageband update gave me some new pieces to play around with, so now I could finally finish this up.

Let me know how you enjoy it. Cheers!

Did another piece of experimental music today! I call this one Solar Odyssey.

There's really not much to say other than I had a lot of fun making this one, and I think I did a decent job. Because hey, when you catch the composing bug, you catch it hard, and can use it to make some really fun and interesting things. I hope you guys enjoy listening to it as much as I had fun making it.

Let me know what you think. If some parts are too loud, I'll adjust accordingly. Cheers!

It's been awhile, hasn't it? Well, I came up with something new! I call it Adrenaline Craze.

This started as a request from a friend of mine, who asked for "a piece that would fit in an action movie/game boss fight." This was about a week ago. After a few experiments of testing pieces and their overall placement, I came up with this. I took more of the action movie approach, but it works all the same. So I'm uploading it here for others to enjoy.

Let me know what you guys think! If it's too loud, let me know and I can adjust some parts accordingly.

Two pieces of music this time. Yay!

This first one was the second of a duo of requests. I call it Reflectuary.

The name is a combination of the words "Reflection" and "Sanctuary." The same guy who requested Adrenaline Craze of me also requested this piece. He wanted something that might be heard in a "cavern of glass." I can't say this wasn't a brain buster, as I cycled through several different iterations before I found something that really fit. But I think it turned out great.

This second one was something I did to stay awake during a game jam. I call it Champion Supreme.

When you're working as a sound designer in a game jam, most of your work is request-based, so you need something besides energy drinks to help you stay awake. Or at least that's how it is in my case. I ended up making this to kill time, and I definitely enjoy it. Of course, I passed out right after, so it didn't really help in the end, did it? Haha!

Hope you guys enjoy them. Cheers!

Another song! The game jam is keeping me busy! I call this one Dreaded Vestige.

This one more accurately reflects the theme of the game jam I'm doing. The theme is "classic horror," like 1980's cheesy zombie movies and Dracula and whatnot. I like to do Halloween music every so often, too, so this definitely assists the theme. The name "Dreaded Vestige" came about as another way to think about a ghost, or at least some kind of horrifying situation. I think it works, to say the least.

Hope you guys enjoy it. Cheers!

A fourth song in a little over 40 hours. Holy crap, I need to sleep. But here's a track called Optical Grid.

During the game jam, a friend from another team was telling me about a game he was working on, which took inspiration from Tron and Tron: Legacy. Based around those parameters, I felt inspired to create a track based around a similar parameter. My body may want me to sleep, but my creativity will not be denied this evening!

    Enjoy it! Cheers!

Been quite awhile, hasn't it? Well, secret projects aside, my newest piece of work is titled Thrill of the Hunt.

First of all, please wear headphones when listening to this. I cannot stress that enough. But yeah, a bit of late-night inspiration created this piece. As the name implies, maybe someone would be escaping from something, or maybe someone would be hunting something else. The situation could swing both ways, but it tries to invoke a feeling of overall dread in its tones. Or maybe I'm imagining shit and am losing my skill with composition. I dunno. Enjoy it either way, though!

Another new song for the holidays! I call this one Winter's Wisdom. WEAR HEADPHONES WHEN YOU LISTEN, DAMN YOU.

Just in time for the holidays! When you hear enough bells in Christmas music wherever you go, you eventually just have to nut up (or shut up) and go with the vibe that Christmas music produces. Maybe the bells don't really capture the holiday feel, but maybe I captured the feeling of the chill that winter brings, eh? But seriously, the cold weather can suck a fat one. Enjoy it all the same, though!

Made something new. I call it Zenith Ascendant. WEAR HEADPHONES WHEN YOU LISTEN, DAMN YOU!

This one...what can I say? I started this by messing around with the old Solar Odyssey file to try and improve upon it, and then I had the idea to just make another song in a similar style. A zenith is a high point, and an ascending one would just get higher and higher. So in keeping with the namesake, I started low, and eventually increased the sounds higher and higher. I personally love how it turned out, and I hope you all enjoy it just the same!

Did another piece that's a bit calmer than my normal fare. I call it Technical Heart. WEAR HEADPHONES WHEN YOU LISTEN, DAMN YOU!

This one started as a class project before I eventually moved on to something else for that project. The results of this demo were to try and create some kind of mellowed-out cybernetic song about passion, and I think it works. This demo could apply to Valentine's Day, if you choose to believe it, though I tend to have a darker take on that "holiday," so believe what you will. I had fun making it, and I may have been inspired in part by Sonic Advance 3's Cyber Track levels. Such a good game, damn. Anyway, hope you all enjoy it. Cheers!

Here's another piece. I call this one Tideswept. WEAR HEADPHONES WHEN YOU LISTEN, DAMN YOU!

This song was inspired by lofi hip hop beats and chillwave music. I discovered a radio station recently that I used for the purposes of studying, being productive, and mellowing out, and over time, I realized that I could probably try out something in the style as a tribute to the work. I'm aware of how repetitive it sounds. But I think it adds to the mellowness of the track. Anyway, hope you all enjoy it! Cheers!

I made something new. I call this one Whimsical Moon. WEAR HEADPHONES WHEN YOU LISTEN, DAMMIT!

I realize that I do too many songs about the sun, such as Sunlight Circuit, Solar Odyssey, Sunshine Soundwave, etc., and I rarely do anything related to the moon. Working on level design for a game recently had me staring at a giant moon in the background for awhile as I worked, and as I kept staring, I realized that it could become something. So a few days later, this track was made. It also kind of helps that the picture I chose for this mixtape brand has a moon in the background. Haha! Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy it! Cheers!
