Once alone with the doctor, Tiketh sighed and asked, "This isn't going to take long is it? Is it going to hurt a lot?" He wouldn't say he couldn't handle pain, but he wouldn't say either that he enjoyed it or liked dealing with it if he didn't need to. The unfortunate thing was that he needed to deal with this while he was able to and it wasn't going to kill him. Yet. "I'm going to.. be okay, right?"

"I haven't even looked at you yet. But I'd like to now. Let me see how bad it is."

Right. There was no reason to be a big baby. He just had to get it done and over with and he'd be fine. Off went the coat and shirt as he got himself comfortable for the doctor. Clenching his teeth, he waited impatiently as the surgeon took a look at his wounds and gave his most professional opinion. "You don't need to worry about a thing. I'll get these all cleaned up and fixed and you'll be good as new." He patted the Hylian's shoulder a little harder than he liked. "I'm an expert at this sort of thing. There shouldn't even be big scars." Well that was nice to know. Tiketh was happy for that news.

He had no idea how long he had been sitting there while nearly every inch of his back was inspected and picked and prodded at, the deepest and least healed gashes cleaned and scraped and stitched back together. If he had been feeling one hundred percent before, he was now feeling lousy again, pretty sure he had begun bleeding once or twice. Still, he gritted his teeth and refused to cry out at any time.

    "Finished."
Thank the goddesses. That was the one word he had been most desperate to hear and it was the release from this torment . Hallelujah! "You should be good to go. Just try and take it easy from here on out. Tell me.. how did this happen?"

"A goddess damned statue tried to attack me and exploded!"
Tiketh spat, letting his temper get the best of him for one moment.

    "A statue?"

"A living statue. An.. An Armos."

"I see. No idea where you found a thing like that, but you should probably steer clear from here on out?"

When the doctor had gone, Tiketh sighed, "Oh believe me. I will. I'm never going back there again." Putting his clothes back together, he stepped out of the room as well and made his way down to the common room to await Keaton's return. Maybe he would get something to eat while he waited.

  2. After about an hour, Keaton finally showed up. He had been exploring the village for quite a while. He saw some kind of academy, a nifty cafe, a tavern he couldn't go in but he certainty tried, all sorts of nice stuff. He had also found a map of the entire village and a bit of the area surrounding it, which was rather helpful when it came to finding his way back here. Then they had a good meal, and Keaton literally passed out the second he touched his bed. It was a good time.

    Morning

    Another day, another journey

At first, Keaton was confused. When he opened his eyes, he was staring at a roof, not a tree that he was taking shelter in, or a cave that he shared with two bears that didn't know he was in it. There was a full second of panic, before Keaton recalled yesterdays events, and sighed in relief. It was still early morning, but Keaton didn't plan on sleeping in. He slipped out of bed, noticing his shield was still on his back. Old habit, also helps if somebody tries to stab him in his sleep. He stared at the window, watching the sun go up.

He'd like to adventure some more.

Meeting back up with his new friend, Tiketh was more than happy to get a meal in his belly and a roof over his head with a comfortable pillow and soft blanket on a clean mattress to sleep on. Heading back from the desert, he got a whole lot of no sleep and harsh terrain to rest in. His wounds were now properly cared for and he was thrilled to know they would not be any more trouble nor wear and tear on his condition.

The night had passed without incident and the morning had come. Surprisingly, Tiketh had not slept for too long and woke bright and early and refreshed. Yawning, he took a look around. Spotting Keaton already awake, he greeted him. "Good morning. Did you sleep well? I feel so much better now. Completely renewed and ready for a new day. I uhm... do apologize if I was any trouble yesterday. I wasn't at my best and felt like dirt. But actually... you know.. there was something I thought about before I went to bed."

He sat up and shuffled closer to the end of his bed, eyes on the boy. "I was thinking a lot about what I was saying about my family and their manor. I've decided I need to go see it for myself. I need to see how bad off it is... if it's even still there. I've been running for a while, but you made me realize something important. I want to go there and settle this uh... this feeling I have that... that I just have to stop wondering and know once and for all what became of the place.." What became of his family..

"I wouldn't expect you to have to come with me in case it might be dangerous."
Who knows what sorts of creeps or ghouls might have moved into the place. "But I wanted to ask if... you wanted to join me?"

  4. Keaton had been so intent standing by the window, that he hadn't noticed Ben wake up. He jumped when Ben spoke, being completely off guard, before playing it off as a joke. He had actually slept really well, no nightmares or people trying to kill him or raid his supplies or anything like that, just a simple peaceful and quiet night.

Keaton listened closely to the questioned asked of him, before quickly nodding his head yes. It was almost like his partner could read his mind. Well, they do say "great minds think alike" or something like that, even thought Keaton thought his mind was more average than great. He began to pack his stuff, believing that they would be heading off right now. None the less, Keaton was glad that he had sparked something in Benjamin's mind, the same spark of adventure that would probably always be inside of Keat. Life was good, and Keat was happy. He waited for you to lead the way.

"Great!" Tiketh exclaimed, "For a bit there I was wondering if I would wind up traveling all alone." That was another weird thought to have to think of. For the past four or five years, he was never truly 'alone'. Even when he was by himself, Take was always there to talk to. This time if he wound up wandering alone, he really would be alone. there would be no one else around, not Take, not anyone. He could talk to himself, but it just would not have the same effect, and if he were to actually answer then he would likely be considered legitimately crazy.

    "I'll get my gear ready,"
he said hurriedly as he saw Keaton getting ready. Scythe? He grabbed for the weapon where it was propped against the door and gave it a look see. It was still in great shape, sharp and deadly. Check. Other weapons? Digging in his satchel, he produced two smaller weapons, matching blades curving back over the grips. Attaching them to his belt beneath his coat, he nodded. Check. Valuables? Next, he found his rupees which he shoved into the nearest convenient pocket. Afterwards, he took a pause to examine his fiddle. The beautiful chestnut colored wood, streaked with a faint glowing red that he still hadn't identified. Residual magical aura was his best guess. Check.

"That should do it for the important stuff of mine,"
he said confidently. "With that, I'm ready when you are." On the way out, he would grab some snacks and fill up a canteen or two for water should he or Keaton need it. He had no idea how long of a walk it would turn out to be, how long they'd be gone, even what they would see along the way or what was there, but with this he was more or less prepared.
